1983 MIJ Fender Squier Stratocaster Guitar (SQ serial)

You are looking at a very unique 1983 Fender Squier Strat.  If you are a Strat person, you will know what this is and know it is sought after and somewhat collectible.
I have another 1983 SQ series Squier Strat that I modified and was used as my main gigging guitar for many years…simply because they were great playing and sounding axes. When I saw this one come up for sale (new old stock) I snapped it up, but never used it. It still has the same set of strings that came with the guitar. I have literally kept this in its case since it was brand new. It hasn’t been played in nearly 40 years except for taking it out and showing it to a couple of friends over the years. I only took the protective plastic off the pick guard a couple of years ago. It is therefore unblemished and presents as a new guitar.

When Fender’s Japan factory was started in 1982, they began with the JV series and followed with these SQ series strats in 1983 for sale in the United States. The quality of these guitars was amazing and were in direct competition with many 70s Fender Strats. Comprised of some of the best quality US and Japanese made components, this 70s reissue Strat in Olympic white finish has an SQ Serial Number, a 3-Bolt Neck with tilt, Fender Japan Sealed Chrome Tuners, a bullet truss rod, a white 3-ply pick guard, CBS 70s headstock, and two string trees. Both these series have been steadily increasing in popularity and value. 
Truly a time capsule guitar, 40 years old but largely unplayed. Make it yours.
